The UK is an exceptionally multicultural nation with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities (BME), accounting for 7.9% (4.6 million) of the population, and set to grow considerably in the coming years. Indeed, it has been predicted that by 2051, ethnic minorities will make up 20% of the entire population – the equivalent of 1 in 5 Britons being an ethnic minority. Despite this substantial growth, and the significant contributions these communities make to society, they are largely left without representation.

Having identified the need to engage with the BME population in Britain, Oceanic Consulting is proud to be the UK’s leading ethnic consulting and promotions company. We work nationwide with ethnic and mainstream organisations and businesses providing consultations, produce publications, and create and host events specifically tailored for the Black and Minority Ethnic demographics.

	Diwali at the Square 6th of November 2011 – George Square, Glasgow The annual Indian festival of lights will be taking place on the 6th of November this year. Natively called Diwali, the day itself is one of celebration and happiness entailing lots of traditional activities. The event will be held at Glasgow’s George Square and will be featuring a variety of entertainment such as: authentic Indian music along with aspiring musical and dancing talent, fire breathers, stalls for all the family to enjoy including food & drink. Having over 10,000 attendees last year this event looks to be another great success this year.
	Scottish Asian Business Awards 23rd of November 2011 – Thistle Hotel, Glasgow The Scottish Asian Business Awards have been celebrated annually since 2006 – honouring the determination, hard work and personal achievements of the Scottish Asian Business men and women at the forefront of their industries. Each year the competition has become more intense as the event itself has grown into a highly respected outlet where the best and brightest are honoured.
	English Asian Business Awards March 2012 – Manchester The Awards embody the continuing strength of the England’s Asian business community, recognising those who continue to thrive and evolve despite the turbulent global and domestic economic landscape. The awards follow on from the runaway success of their Scottish counterpart, which from 2006 has proved to be an annual fixture in the Asian Business community and national media calendars alike.
